Holiday shoppers and the Economy

Christmas is usually a time when we can enjoy our happiest childhood memories, but even these Holidays are also the time period that typically generates the largest volume of sales to retailers in the country. The consumer is "king" in retail centers country, which throughout the year provides two thirds of our national economic growth. But because this year has been difficult in retail centers in the country, consumers are especially important during this year's fourth quarter.

Many retailers attribute 25 to 40% of its annual sales for "Black Friday" (Friday after Thanksgiving), which is usually a pretty solid size, like the rest of the holiday shopping season will be similar. Besides "Black Friday, we recognize that Monday as "Cyber Monday as the start of the season to shop online. For many retailers that are already close to ruin, the 2009 holiday season is likely to tell the story. It could be the final blow to a number of retailers in the U.S. and operators of shopping, already feeling the negative influence of a year decreased for retail sale.

As I shared with you recently, national habits of American consumers certainly have changed over the past 18 months and traditional attitudes that the buying public in the past, are forever changed. That means retailers will have also to make some changes to meet the newly formed buying habits of its customers. The plans of the retail centers for this Christmas appear to be focused on traditional values and bringing the family together since that seems to be the chief desire of the typical buyer this year. Lower supply of holiday and give more time focused on the important things in life – time with family.

Sellers are still suffering over the past year "holiday shopping season, which economists say it was the weakest purchasing period since 1967, when the Commerce Department began collecting this data. The feeling is this year could be worse. Consumers with concerns about resignation or reduction of working hours, and lower credit lines are contributing to consumer interest in reducing spending this holiday season.

The retail centers will display more things like gingerbread houses while using the traditional red, green and gold holiday to play the current mood of today's consumer. We are all looking back, when life was easier, safer, and perhaps even happier, and these are the values that will entice holiday shoppers this year.

And according to a recent survey by Information Resources Inc. (IRI), about 77 percent of holiday shoppers said the American, though they do not spend much over the holidays last year they are more willing to open their wallets a little more this year. Respondents said that they will continue to search for discounts whenever possible. According with the IRI functional gifts such as iPods, Blu-ray for less than $ 99, Smartphone and such clothes as sweaters and jackets will probably wishlist higher. "

There are indicators that suggest the U.S. economy may be reaching the end of his worst days, many consumers are concerned by the curtailment credit, high unemployment and foreclosures. The new American consumer continues to hold at historically high levels, paying his debt to down. Just consider these concerns mean that we could experience another difficult holiday season for retailers in the country.
